F.A.Q.

Can I use insurance?

Osteopathy is now accepted by most private health insurers. I do not work directly with any specific insurance company, but a receipt will be issued so you the fee might be re-claimed from your insurance company. I always recommend you speak to your insurer before your first appointment

What should I do after an osteopathic appointment?

After the osteopathy appointment, it is important to take some time to rest. This will help your body to heal and repair itself. You should also drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine, alcohol, and processed foods. In case you have been prescribed with exercises it is important to continue. These exercises will help to improve range of motion, flexibility, and muscle strength. If you are having difficulty with the exercises, or if you experience any pain or discomfort, be sure to contact the osteopath.

What do I need to bring to an appointment?

It would be helpful if you could provide medical or surgical history, any relevant scan/MRI reports, and list of medication.

How many visits will I need?

The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the Osteopath will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process. In most cases, patients will need to schedule several follow-up appointments in order to achieve long-term relief from their symptoms. However, some patients may only need one or two appointments before they see significant improvements.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Depending on which part of the body is being treated you may be asked to undress. You will be offered towels to make you feel more comfortable and you may prefer to bring some shorts with you.
